Fork Vineyard was established May, 2000, with an acre and a half of wine
grapes within the next two years.
Another acre and a half was added containing more wine grapes, along
with table grapes. We also acquired honey bees as a hobby in the spring
of 2000.
Rod and Jackie Hopken work the small vineyard and the bees together with
help from their young grandson.
Rod always tries to find time to hitch up his draft horses, Babe and
Sam, to go for a ride.
Easy to find! Just a few miles from Ogallala,
Nebraska, right off Interstate 80!
The vineyard is located on the exact spot as the Oregon Trail, the California
Trail and the Pony Express.
Directions: South on highway 61 from Ogallala; turn east on Prospector
Drive. Continue 3 miles to Road D. Turn south to South Fork Vineyard.
